The highly anticipated sequel from Kollywood, Chandramukhi 2, made its much-awaited debut this past Friday amidst a wave of positive anticipation. The film has garnered praise from audiences in both the Tamil and Telugu-speaking regions initially.
However, it faced an unexpected setback on the second day of its release in the Telugu states. Remarkably, the film’s producer managed to secure profits even before the official release, thanks to the enduring appeal of the Chandramukhi brand and Raghava Lawrence’s reputation in the horror genre.
Chandramukhi 2 commanded substantial pre-release business, with non-theatrical and theatrical rights fetching impressive prices. Reportedly, Raghava Lawrence received an unprecedented remuneration of approximately 20 crore rupees for his role in the film.
Directed by P Vasu, ‘Chandramukhi 2’ boasts a star-studded cast, including Raghava Lawrence, Kangana Ranaut, Vadivelu, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Lakshmi Menon, Srushti Dange, Mithun Shyam, Mahima Nambiar, Vignesh, Ravi, Suresh Menon, and Subiksha Krishnan. The film’s musical score is composed by MM Keeravani, and it is being distributed in both Telugu states by the Sri Lakshmi Movies banner.
