Horror Comedies have became the cream of the season with each and every one trying their hand on the genre in Tamil and Telugu Cinema. Horror has become a sure shot winning genre in Hollywood films too as they are made on low budget and can retain their cost of making in a relatively less theatrical run in terms of days. But at times these remain disasters too and some of them might not even end up being released. Raghava Lawrence, the man who started as a dancer, became cherographer popular one at that and then transformed into an actor and further expanded as a writer, director and music director too. The multi-faceted talent from Tamil Nadu became huge with the support of Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi for his dance choreography for the song Habbi Habbi from Hitler.
With that one song he became a star and then there were several films introducing him as an actor but they did not succeed at the box office as he expected. He then became a very famous dance master with each one of his next films having special moments and his touches. Again another Telugu Star, Akkineni Nagarjuna gave him a chance to direct him with the couple action sequences that he designed and narrated. The movie, Mass became a blockbuster and established him as a director. He then directed three more films, one of them Style, with himself as the main protagonist and his guru Prabhu Deva in another crucial role. After that he made Don, a moderate success and Rebel, a disaster with Prabhas. After that he launched a lieu of horror comedies as a franchise with Muni films. Each and every Muni film one after the other became huge success and he established himself as a box office hero in Tamil and Telugu.
Outside Muni franchise his films in Tamil and Telugu did not work commercially. Now he is trying to achieve his first success directed by an other director than him. P. Vasu, the master director of commercial cinema from 90’s and who gave Chandramukhi with Rajnikanth, directed a horror comedy, Shivalinga in Kannada his experimental lab, where he tries his subjects before making them in Tamil or Telugu.
