Radhe Shyam and RRR have been the two most highly anticipated films from Tollywood for a few years now, and both of them have finally been released, within a two-week span. Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam was released on March 11th and touted to be an epic love saga, the film turned out to be a major disappointment for everyone.
Despite being clear that the film wouldn’t have any massy moments, and that it’s a pure love story, Radhe Shyam failed to make people connect with its love story. Moreover, the film left everyone wondering about the necessity behind the extensive use of graphics and the need to make the film on such a high scale in the first place. On the other end of the spectrum is director SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which was released yesterday.
People flocked to watch the film in theatres despite the huge ticket prices. One look at the film, and it’s clear where all the budget of the movie was spent. The film lived up to its hype and turned out to be a blockbuster success, once again reiterating that audiences wan to consume big-budget movies in theatres, if presented the right way.
