After the industry hit Magadheera, Ram Charan did Orange, which became a big flop at that time. Later, he teamed up with director Sampath Nandi for the mass film Racha. The movie opened with mixed talk, but mass audiences supported it strongly.
With the advantage of summer holidays, it turned into a super hit at the box office. The film was produced by R. B. Choudary under the Mega Super Good Films banner and released on April 5, 2012.

Racha was released with a break-even target of Rs. 38.5 crore. Despite mixed talk, the Ram Charan starrer collected Rs. 47.20 crore share in its full run. The film earned around Rs. 7.5 crore profit for buyers and ended up as a super hit at the box office.
