Hero Vijay Deverakonda produced a film titled, Pushpaka Vimanam with his brother Anand Deverakonda. Directed by debutant named Damodara, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it fares.
Story: Sundar( Anand Deverakonda) a government school teacher marries a girl named Meenakshi( Geeth Saini) and comes to Hyderabad. But in an unexpected scenario, Meenakshi elopes with her boyfriend and leaves Sundar in deep depression. Why did Meenakshi ran away from Sundar? How will Sundar face the circumstances after facing humiliating rejection from his wife? Forms the crucial crux of the film.
Performances: Anand Deverakonda perfectly fitted in the role of a innocent school teacher. Though his acting fails to bring depth to the proceedings, compared to previous films Anand improved his acting skills.
New girl Geeth Saina has a decent screen presence and done her role quit convincingly.
Saanve Megghana is cute and did her extended cameo role neatly. Sunil is alright in his cop role. Harsha Vardhan is okay in his negative shaded character.
Other artistes who played supporting roles are decent in their roles.
Technicalities: Songs composed by Ram Miriyala and Amit Dasani are okay. Background score by Sidharth Sadasivuni fails to register.
Cinematography by Hestin Jose Joseph is adequate. Ravi Teja Girijala’s editing work is okay.
Production values for this Vijay Deverakonda’s home banner are fine.
Analysis: Debuted named Damodara directs Pushpaka Vimanam. After watching the film’s promotional staff, everyone expected that the film is going to be a rom-com entertainer but as a contradiction the movie offers nothing as expected and explores a serious point related to a murder mystery.
If Damodara has an idea of making a film with the same script, he would have choosen some other title instead of wasting iconic title. Yet another major minus for the film is that it lacks proper presentation as all the sub-plots showcased in the proceedings fails to impress the audience.
To summerize, Pushpaka Vimanam is a family story of a man named Sundar that has endless twists and turns. But sadly, none of the aspects manage to grab the audience attention and ends up as a disappointing watch.
Verdict: Lacks strong presentation!
