Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s upcoming film, Pushpa, has a lot of expectations riding on it. The film, directed by Sukumar, was finalised even before the release of Ala Vaikuntapuramlo, and the massive success of AVPL – which became Bunny’s biggest so far – turned Pushpa into a pan-Indian film, with a much bigger budget. Pushpa is now being made in two parts, due to the large scope of the story, where the first part will be releasing this year, and the second part will release next year.
Early trading took place for Pushpa in 2019, when the makers are said to have earned a profit of as much as Rs. 60 Crores, which is said to be equal to Rs. 100 Crores according to the current market trend. All of this profit was from the non-theatrical rights itself. However, considering the increased budget of Pushpa, sources are now saying that the producers have incurred losses, and are yet to recuperate what they have invested.
Given that Pushpa’s theatrical rights and other rights haven’t been sold yet, it is now to be seen if the producers will make any profits down the lane. Pushpa has Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil play the antagonist, while Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead in the film.
