The expectations surrounding Allu Arjun’s film, Pushpa: The Rise, directed by Sukumar, were quite high in Tollywood, naturally, considering the craze that the director and the actor have for themselves in the Telugu states. Upon the film’s release, Pushpa received a highly mixed response in Telugu, while it performed beyond expectations in the Tamil and Hindi markets.
The pre-production works for Pushpa 2, tentatively titled Pushpa: The Rule, have already begun, and the script is reportedly being tweaked, despite having been locked previously itself, to appeal more to the Hindi audience, keeping in mind the film’s performance in the Hindi market. It is also now being said that the makers of Pushpa are considering roping in Bollywood actors for the second part, to increase the reach of the film, like how the makers of RRR and KGF 2 planned.
The shooting for the second part of Pushpa is expected to begin in March, with all the original cast set to return. Malayalam actor Fahaadh Faasil, who plays the antagonist, will be seen more in the second part.
