Apart from the fact that almost every Telugu audience is imagining Liger to be a retelling of Puri Jagannath’s Amma Nanna O Tamilammayi, there have been a lot of speculations surrounding the film’s story, which only increased after the release of the film’s trailer, which left the audience thoroughly confused.
Talking about the same, Puri said that the trailer was intentionally cut the way it was, to sort of give a different experience to the audience than the film. He said that the trailer was cut was deliberately made different, as they didn’t want the regular experience. He then went on to reveal a little bit of Liger’s story, saying that the film runs on a mother’s dream to see her son as a world champion, which takes them from their hometown of Karimnagar, to Mumbai.
Puri, of course, didn’t reveal much else, especially regarding the involvement of Mike Tyson, and what significance his character will have in the film. Recently, it was also revealed that Puri wanted to cast Janhvi Kapoor in the film, as he’s a huge fan of her mother Sridevi, but that didn’t happen because her dates weren’t available. Liger is all set to be released on August 25th across the country, in various languages.
