In the forthcoming epic period action movie “Ponniyin Selvan-2,” directed by Mani Ratnam, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan makes a promise to exterminate the Cholas.
The upcoming epic period action film “Ponniyin Selvan-2” directed by Mani Ratnam, whose trailer was revealed on Wednesday at a glittering public event in Chennai attended by Kamal Hassan, is all about Arunmozhi Varman, who rose to become the powerful Chola emperor Rajaraja I and Aishwarya Rai Bhachchan’s Nandini.
This blockbuster Tamil sequel to the wildly popular “Ponniyin Selvan-1,” which earned Rs 510 crore worldwide, boasts the same all-star ensemble, dramatic music by A.R. Rahman, and cinematography that effortlessly captures the scale of the action.
The “Ponniyin Selvan” movies, which feature Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, are based on the Kalki Krishnamurthy modern Tamil classic of the same name.
The shipwreck that was the highlight of “Ponniyin Selvan-1″‘s conclusion begins the trailer, and it ends dramatically with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Nandini pledging to overthrow the Chola Dynasty.
Additionally, it weaves through the cunning politics and succession conflicts that develop following the passing of King Arunmozhi and the installation of his sibling Madhuranthakan. The audience will be kept glued to their chairs by the intense action and Aishwarya’s plots.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi (who plays Arunmozhi and is essential to the plot of the sequel), Trisha Krishnan, and Sobhita Dhulipala all have prominent parts in Ponniyin Selvan-2, just like the first movie. Supporting actors include Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Lal, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, and Aishwarya Lekshmi.
The international premiere of “Ponniyin Selvan-2,” in which Aishwarya Rai Bachchan allegedly plays two roles, is set for April 28 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
