PS-1 Trailer: Emphasis the greatness of Chola kingdom

The theatrical trailer for senior Kollywood filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s prestigious project, Ponniyin Selvan-1 is unveiled last night at a grand audio launch event in Chennai. Meanwhile, the film’s Telugu version trailer is unveiled by the team this morning.

Starring Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Jayam Ravi among others in lead roles, the visually grand scale promotional video showcases the empire of Chola dynasty. Vikram as prince Adithya Karikaludu, Karthi as Vandiyadevudu are seen as protectors of the Kingdom. On the other hand, Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varma as a saviour of the Kingdom, Trisha as a royal lady Kundavai are showcased in a few glimpses. But the entire context of the film is related and revolves around Nandini’s character portrayed by Aishwarya Rai. The twist in her character is expected to be the key aspect of the proceedings. Though the large canvas, and grandeur visually are good, the promo lacks a spark which is needed for a pan-Indian film like PS-1.

Ponniyin Selvan-1 is scheduled for a release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam languages on September 30th. AR Rahman is the music composer for this epic drama. Dil Raju is releasing the movie across twin Telugu states.
