PS-1 first day collections

Kollywood filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s period drama, Ponniyin Selvan-1 had a pan-India release yesterday. Opened to below-par reports, the film’s Telugu version has collected a impressive share of Rs 2.81 crore on its first day. Below is area-wise break up data.

As per trade reports, the pre-release business for PS-1 for twin Telugu states is done for Rs 8.48 crore and the film should collect Rs 9 crore to achieve break-even status. As the film has collected Rs 2.81 crore on its first day, it should collect Rs 7.19 crore share to be a clean hit.
