Some active Tollywood producers like Ravi Shankar, Naga Vamsi, Sahu Garapati, Venkata Satish Kilaru and Sudhakar Cherukuri recently spoke to the media.
This came after Nizam exhibitors held a press meet and the producers wanted to share their side and find solutions.
Ravi Shankar said they spent a lot on renovating Vimal theatre, and it is now running in profit. He added that if single screens are maintained well, audiences will come.
Producers also said there is no proper tracking system in single screens and asked exhibitors to set it up for better transparency.
They mentioned that high costs like popcorn prices and ticket booking charges are a big burden for audiences. Naga Vamsi also said many theatres are controlled by lessees, and their profits are unclear. Producers said they are open for discussions and will address issues in the May 15 meeting.
