When Paresh Rawal briefly stepped away from Hera Pheri 3 many social media users suggested Pankaj Tripathi as a suitable replacement. Although Paresh Rawal later returned to the franchise and those discussions ended the idea did not go unnoticed.
Director Priyadarshan is now ready to reunite with Pankaj after more than 15 years. Their last collaboration was Aakrosh where Pankaj played a serious role.
Priyadarshan confirmed that their new film will be a full-fledged situational comedy similar to his past popular films.
This time Pankaj will be seen in a fun with lovable comic role and will be the central character. The director said he is currently writing the script and will finalize the remaining cast once the story is complete.
Priyadarshan recently completed the action thriller Haiwaan and has two releases planned in 2026. If schedules work out he plans to begin shooting the Pankaj Tripathi comedy from May. The director also clarified that he is not associated with Bhagam Bhag 2 which is expected to be directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa.
