Superstar Mahesh Babu is the brand ambassador of Pan-Bahaar, a tobacco brand, which is often chewed upon, and then spat out in deep-red tinges. Thousands of people are addicted to this, which causes a lot of health problems, which are constantly reminded to each and every one. Tiger Shroff is the brand ambassador in Bollywood for this.
Today, Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan announced that he has terminated his contract with Kamala Pasand, another similar tobacco brand, stating that he was requested by a national anti-tobacco organisation to do so, as it propagates ill-health to people, and because it comes under surrogate advertising. Considering that Mahesh too has a huge fan base, who adore him and everything he says, the actor continuing to endorse surrogate advertisements which can result in negative consequences, just for the sake of money, is being criticised by everyone.
With that, pressure is mounting up on Mahesh, directly and indirectly, to stop endorsing anything that is not good for the health of people. It is now to be seen what will happen in the days to come.
