Premkumar, known for 96 and Meiyazhagan, earned huge appreciation for his sensitive storytelling. Usually he takes long breaks between projects, but this time he is lining up three new films.
His immediate next will be an action thriller, a new genre for him, with Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil in the lead. Premkumar had earlier planned a film with Vikram, but since Vikram is busy with other projects, that film is postponed.
Premkumar shared that he has been carrying this story for four years and felt Fahadh was the perfect choice.
Though many advised him not to attempt action right away, he wants to break the pattern and bring in a fresh style by mixing strong emotions with action.
Fahadh instantly connected with the script during narration and agreed to do the film. This Tamil project will go on floors in January 2026. Premkumar also promised to work continuously on films without long gaps.
