Naga Chaitanya Akkineni heir in acting had been under pressure to deliver upto the standards of his father and grandfather. He had all the support he needed from the fans of Akkineni and Daggubati Venkatesh. But from his debut he had been trying to find an apt genre for his comfort and kept trying different things. His first film received a lukewarm response as the release date was too bad.
Then he did a classic love saga, Ye Maya Chesave with Gautam Menon and now would be Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Immediately he did a movie in the direction of them youth sensation and now a sorted director, Sukumar. 100% Love became another success for him. With two back to back hits Naga Chaitanya looked on course but his acting wasn’t fully appreciated and there were times he had take the criticism in his stride.
Then he tried to establish himself as an action hero, but Dhada, Bezawada bombed at the box office even though were backed by Kamakshi Kala movies and Ram Gopal Verma. His portrayals of those characters were also not well received. He saw a moderate success in Tadakha with Sunil and then again saw a disaster with Autonagar Surya, the long delayed release. But in between he was a major part of the classic, Manam, acted by three generations of Akkinenis Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and ANR.
He again saw moderate success with Oka Laila Kosam and a disaster in DohChay. After that he realised his strength lies in romantic genre and accepted back to back love stories Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo and Premam. Sahasam started before Premam but is still in some release issues. Premam hit the screens this past week. Finally Chaitanya got name for his acting performance and Box Office moolah.
The talk for the movie is ultra strong and the World Wide gross for the movie is already 22crs from 7 days. The movie stood out as the Dussehra winner and attained Super hit status in the first week. Naga Chaitanya finally arrived! The World Wide share of the movie is around 13.5 crs for 6 days.
