Preity Mukhundhan Says Auditions Are Still Important

Preity Mukhundhan has had a successful 2026 so far. Her film Blast, her first release of the year and first female-centric project, became a surprise hit.

She also played a dual role in Idhayam Murali, while Anbil Avan gave her what she calls the most challenging role of her career. She will next star opposite Dhanush in a film directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu.

In a recent interview, Preity explained how she selects films. She said the director’s narration and the strength of the story are her main priorities. She also looks at how important her character is to the story rather than its screen time.

Preity revealed that experience has helped her judge scripts better. She prefers spending more time preparing for roles and wants to focus on quality rather than quantity.

The actress also said she is comfortable auditioning for roles, even after working in more than ten films. She recently auditioned for Dhanush’s upcoming film and believes auditions help filmmakers choose the right actors.
