The surprising announcement of Nara Rohith’s return to movies coincides with journalist Murthy, known as TV5 Murthy, venturing into filmmaking with the project titled ‘Prathinidhi 2.’ However, speculations have arisen about the film being politically motivated, allegedly supporting the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the upcoming elections.
The movie aims to shed light on critical issues faced by Andhra Pradesh and is presented from a perspective aligned with TDP’s agenda. This has sparked controversy, as it appears to clash with the intentions of the ruling YSR Congress Party’s films, ‘Yvyuham’ and ‘Yaatra 2.’
‘Yaatra 2,’ scheduled for release in February 2024, focuses on events following the demise of YS Rajasekhar Reddy in the United Andhra Pradesh. While ‘Yvyuham’ by director Ram Gopal Varma has been criticized for its content, ‘Yaatra 2’ is seen as a potential political campaign tool for the ruling government.
‘Prathinidhi 2’ is also set to release in 2024, just a couple of weeks ahead of ‘Yaatra 2,’ further fueling speculations of political competition through cinema.
The return of Nara Rohith and TV5 Murthy’s debut as a filmmaker with ‘Prathinidhi 2’ has triggered discussions surrounding its alleged political backing for the TDP and its potential rivalry with the ruling YSR Congress Party’s film, ‘Yaatra 2,’ in the upcoming elections.
