Deepika Padukone’s exit from Spirit has been a topic of discussion for over a year. Producer Pranay Reddy Vanga has now shared the team’s side of the story.
He said Deepika was part of the project for more than a year and was interested in both the film and her role. However differences came up during discussions about remuneration, profit sharing and working hours.
According to Pranay, Deepika’s team asked for 10 percent of the film’s profits along with her fee. There were also disagreements over the shooting schedule and working timings.
He said Sandeep Reddy Vanga decided to replace her. Deepika has not publicly confirmed the profit-sharing claim.
Triptii Dimri was later brought in as the female lead. Spirit, starring Prabhas as a cop is scheduled for March 2027.
