Prakash Raj known for his outspoken nature, has once again sparked debate by criticizing Bollywood celebrities for staying silent on political issues.
He said the film industry must find the courage to speak up, especially when freedom of expression is under threat. In a recent interview, he claimed that half of his colleagues have sold out, while the rest are too scared to speak.
Sharing a personal story, he recalled a friend saying, “You have the courage, but not everyone does”. Prakash replied that he could understand fear, but not forgive silence, stating that history may forgive those who did wrong, but not those who stayed quiet.
He also addressed the recent ban on the film Abir Gulaal, starring Fawad Khan, after the Pahalgam attack. He strongly opposed banning films unless they promote something harmful like child abuse or pornography.
His bold statements have gone viral and triggered heated discussions online.
