NTR and Koratala Siva’s much-anticipated pan-Indian film, “Devara,” had initially locked in April 5, 2024, for its release, much to the delight of NTR’s fans. However, the summer season and the abundance of public holidays during its release weekend meant tough competition was inevitable.
Recent developments indicate that Prabhas’ “Salaar” is set to go head-to-head with “Devara.” The makers of “Salaar” are contemplating two potential release dates, March 22 and March 29, 2024. If they opt for March 22, it may have a limited impact on “Devara” since its release is scheduled for April 5.
But should “Salaar” choose March 29, it could significantly affect “Devara” in all markets. Distributors seem inclined toward a March 29 release for “Salaar” due to the advantage of the Good Friday holiday, with additional benefits expected from the summer and festival holidays in the second week.
The delay in the release of “Salaar: Part 1” disappointed both Prabhas’ fans and the entire film industry, as it was anticipated to be a colossal mass entertainer, bringing together the brands of “Baahubali” and “KGF.” Unfortunately, the originally planned September 28 release was postponed, allowing other films to seize what could have been a spectacular release date.
