Prabhas starrer Adipurush is one of the highly-awaited movies of the season. Amdist high expectations, the film is getting ready to release in theaters on June 16.
The movie is having a huge buzz and curiosity among the fans and general audiences or even the trade that is hopeful of massive returns. With just 10 days to go for the release, the makers are getting big offers from distributors to grab the theatrical rights.
Since Prabhas is playing the lead role, the distributors from Telugu states have thrown huge money for theatrical rights. We had already reported that People Media Factory acquired the Telugu states theatrical rights of the film for a whopping approx. 170 crore.
Reportedly, People Meda Factory sold the Nizam area rights to Mythri Movie Makers for approx. 50 crores. The pre-release business in the 6 territories of Andhra Pradesh has been locked at approx. 52 crores. On the other hand, Ceded area rights have been sealed at approx. 18 crores as the overall business of the movie in AP-TG is approx. Rs 121 crore. The overseas rights are not included in the Telugu state’s business, say trade experts.
Adipurush” will need to score 121 crores share collection and approx. 200 crores gross collection in order to break even and emerge as a clean hit in the two Telugu states. Will the film manage to collect Rs 200 crore gross collection from twin Telugu states alone? Remains to be seen.
