Nithin was initially in talks for a mass action film titled Powerpet, which was planned as a multi-part project.
Lyricist-turned-director Krishna Chaitanya was set to direct, and People Media Factory was ready to produce it. However, the project was put on hold for unknown reasons.
In the meantime, Krishna Chaitanya directed Gangs of Godavari with Vishwak Sen, but that film didn’t do well.
Now, Powerpet is being revived. It will officially launch on August 9th with a grand event in Hyderabad. This time, Sundeep Kishan will play the lead role. Pre-production work is nearly done.
The movie will be produced by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devireddy under the 70mm Entertainments banner. An official announcement is expected soon.
