Jyothika is a well-known name in the Indian Film Industry, and she’s acted in several films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. While she did only three films in Telugu – Tagore, Mass and Shock – she’s very much made her mark with Tollywood audiences as well, with her performances in films that were dubbed into Telugu. Of course, her most notable performance to date would be her role as Ganga/Chandramukhi in Superstar Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi.
While Jyothika received several offers from Tollywood, she had to reject all of them, as they all clashed with her wedding with Tamil actor Suriya. AIn 2015, Jyothika made her comeback with the film 36 Vayadhinile (36 Vayasulo) and has been acting in performance-oriented roles in Tamil ever since then. However, the actress is yet to make her re-entry in Telugu.
According to the latest reports, Jyothika is being considered to play Prabhas’s sister in his upcoming film Salaar, which is being directed by Prashant Neel. As the film is being made on a pan-Indian, the director is said to have felt that Jyothika would be perfect for the role, which is said to have good importance. If she agrees to be a part of Salaar, then it will mark her official re-entry in Tollywood after a whopping 15 years. Her last direct Telugu film, Shock, released in 2006. It will definitely be an amazing addition to Salaar if Jyothika is a part of the film. Salaar is scheduled to release next year, and Shruti Haasan is playing the female lead in the film.
