Toxic faced another setback with its English version, which released in Indian theatres on September 4th. The version received a very poor response with only around 450 tickets sold on its opening day.
It was screened in limited shows across Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gurugram and Noida. The English cut arrived more than a week after the film release.
The makers also prepared a shorter version about 17 minutes shorter than the original cuts to attract English viewers.
However the late release worked against the film as its theatrical run had already slowed down. Competition from Hanuman Ansh and Mirzapur The Movie also affected the film.
