Ace director Mani Ratnam is all set to entertain the audience after a long gap, with his upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan, which is all set to be released on 30th September. THe film features an ensemble cast, which includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj and many others, in key and leading roles.
The film is based on the book written by Kalki, of the same name, and focuses on the rule of the Cholas. The teaser has been launched today, in a grand fashion, and the Telugu version of the teaser has also been released. Mani Ratnam is once again collaborating with AR Rahman for this film, and the music is as grand as one would expect.
From the teaser, it is clear that the film focuses on internal turmoil and politics between the Cholas, which was very much the case in reality, back during the reign of the Cholas, in Tamil Nadu. There’s love, there’s hate, and there’s competition for the throne, all showcased perfectly in the trailer. Ponniyin Selvan has been made on a grand and epic scale and is a visual epic.
