The comments by senior actor, Chalapathi Rao have become of the toast of social media for past three days. For all those who don’t know, the actor attended the audio function of Rarandoyi Veduka Chuddam with Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Rakul Preet Singh along with the technical team of the film.

The actor was asked a question during the function, “Are Women harmful?” The visibly irritated actor in his usual style reacted, “They are good in bed!” His remarks became quite sensational over the Telugu media and the actor tried left a video ‘apology’ through social media.

But many human right activists especially, lady rights activists found the comments intolerable. Even Movie Artists Association issued a warning to the senior actor to be careful in public functions while addressing sensitive issues. Now, Chalapathi Rao is booked under section 354 a (IV), 509 IPC at Saroor Nagar Police Station for controversial remark on women. The actor will have to answer about his remarks in court and pay the penalty, according to the section.

Meanwhile, actress Hema asked women activists to take back the case stating that, “Chalapathi Rao is a senior actor and this issue need not malign his reputation so much! He apologised and we made the point clear, let’s move on!”
