An essential piece of ethnic clothing for any Indian wardrobe is a saree. For any festive occasion, the six yards of pure elegance and grace look exquisite. Numerous Bollywood divas who wear stunning sarees for events like wedding celebrations, red carpet award shows, and movie promotions attest to the truth of our assertion. Not an exception is Kriti Sanon.
With her ethnic attire and preference for sarees, the actress elevates the bar for style. It is understandable why her love of sarees is the first thing leaned on as she moves through the Adipurush film promoting process.
Yesterday, Kriti Sanon, Prabhas, and Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming movie Adipurush trailer launch event happened in Mumbai. Master fashion designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla created a special double-draped saree just for Kriti for the event.
The star’s white, 24-karat gold, and red-hued saree was inspired by Sita’s purity (Kriti plays Sita in Adipurush), and it features elaborate tamba [copper] and gold work. According to Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s post, Kriti’s double-drape vintage Kerala cotton saree features a 24-carat gold Khadi block print, and her blouse came decked in tamba [copper] tikki flowers and emeralds. they used pure fabrics for Kriti’s saree because it had to depict the ‘purity of Sita’. They wrote, “It is about revival, it’s about Sita, it’s about being classic. The look was all about using pure fabrics because it’s about the purity of Sita. Kriti embodied it to perfection!”
Meanwhile, Kriti draped the cotton saree traditionally, letting the pallu fall from the shoulder in a floor-grazing style. She placed a pleated matching saree on the other shoulder and paired the double-drape six yards with a mustard Farisha resham blouse.
Lastly, Kriti accessorised the beauteous outfit with earrings, ornate gold bangles, and statement rings. A centre-parted white-rose gajra-adorned low bun, minimal makeup, and a dainty bindi gave the finishing touch.
Meanwhile, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon’s Adipurush will release in June 16th. The film also stars Saif Ali Khan. Apart from Adipurush, Kriti has Ganpath with Tiger Shroff, The Crew with Kareena Kapoor and Tabu in pipeline. Kriti will be starring in an untitled film with Shahid Kapoor. The film is set to release in October 2023.
