Peddi Release Issue Finally Settled

Telangana exhibitors have been demanding the implementation of the percentage model in theatres and wanted to introduce it with Ram Charan’s Peddi.

However, Telugu film producers opposed the immediate implementation and requested more time. As the issue created tension ahead of Peddi’s release, Chiranjeevi stepped in and successfully resolved the matter through discussions.

Following Chiranjeevi’s assurance, exhibitors agreed to release Peddi on a rental basis for now. Reports say that if ticket prices are increased, a 7.5 percent share model will be applied in Telangana theatres.

Chiranjeevi also reportedly assured exhibitors that the percentage system would be fully implemented from July onwards. With this compromise, all hurdles surrounding Peddi’s release have been cleared.

Meanwhile the Telangana State Film Chamber has sought an appointment with AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan to discuss the issue further.
