Pavala Shyamala passed away in the early hours of Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Osmania Hospital in Hyderabad.
Hospital staff said that she suffered from heart attack and died at around 1:52 AM after battling health problems for a much more long time.
Shyamala acted in many Telugu films and became much popular for her amazing performances with comic timing and memorable character roles. She shared screen space with many leading stars.
In recent years she faced serious health and financial difficulties with several members of the film industry extending support for her treatment.
Despite their help her condition worsened. Doctors confirmed the cause of death as a heart attack. Her mortal remains have been kept in the hospital mortuary for now.
