Even after entering the second week, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s dark action thriller, Pathaan is continuing its good run at the worldwide box office. This Siddharth Anand directional is smashing all the existing box office records and creating new benchmarks in all domestic and overseas territories.
At the Indian box office, Pathaan’s Hindi version alone collected more than Rs 430 crore( Nett) till Tuesday. The film will cross the lifetime collections ( Hindi version) of Yash-Prashanth’s KGF- Chapter 2 to grab the second spot among the all-time highest-grosser in the Bollywood movies list. Will the film come close to the 2017 biggest blockbuster Baahubali 2 which collected close to Rs 530 crore nett from the Hindi version alone? Remains to be seen.
From South versions, Pathaan collected Rs 16 crore (nett), to date, taking the total Indian box office collections close to Rs 450 crore( Nett). As per the trade reports, Pathaan collected close to $15 million and took a lead over SS Rajamouli’s pre-independence patriotic drama, RRR lifetime collections. The next target for Pathaan at the US box office is none other than mighty Baahubali 2 which collected close to $21 million. It needs to be seen if Pathaan be able to touch or come close to Baahubali 2 or not.
Adding to it, in other key markets like Australia, Germany, the UK, UAE, and Newzealand, Pathaan had a solid opening. Sources reveal that Pathaan collected more than Rs 320 crore gross from overseas, to date. In twin Telugu states, Pathaan has already entered into the profits zone and is still minting decent revenues. Co-starring Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana, and Dimple Kapadia in prominent roles, Pathaan also has Salman Khan in a key cameo. Pathaan is part of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe.
