Released on January 25th, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s dark action thriller, Pathaan is continuing its dream run at the worldwide box office. This Siddharth Anand directional is smashing all the existing box office records and creating new benchmarks in all domestic and overseas territories.
At the Indian box office, Pathaan’s Hindi version alone collected more than Rs 400 crore( Nett) and is currently on track to overtake Yash-Prashanth’s KGF- Chapter 2 to grab the second spot among the all-time highest-grosser in Bollywood movies list. Will the film come close to the 2017 biggest blockbuster Baahubali 2? Remains to be seen. Reportedly, Baahubali 2( Hindi version) alone collected Rs 520 crore nett.
On the other hand, Pathaan is performing beyond imagination at the North American box office. As per the trade reports, Pathaan collected close to $15 million and took a lead over SS Rajamouli’s pre-independence patriotic drama, RRR lifetime collections. The next target for Pathaan at the US box office is none other than mighty Baahubali 2 which collected close to $21 million. It needs to be seen if Pathaan able to touch or come close to Baahubali 2 or not. In other key markets like Australia, Germany, the UK, UAE, and Newzealand, Pathaan is performing well. Sources reveal that Pathaan collected close to Rs 300 crore gross from overseas, to date.
In twin Telugu states, Pathaan has already entered into the profits zone and is still minting decent revenues. Co-starring Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana, and Dimple Kapadia in prominent roles, Pathaan also has Salman Khan in a key cameo. Pathaan is part of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe.
