With OMG 2, Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar captured hearts, but the former had reasons not to participate in the sequel.
We have cult favourites like Hera Pheri, Welcome, Oh My God, and more thanks to Paresh Rawal, one of the best actors in Bollywood, and Akshay Kumar. The actors’ hit film OMG is now receiving a sequel, OMG 2, but while Akshay is returning, Paresh opted out, severing their successful duo. A few years ago, the senior actor revealed the motivation behind his choice.
Umesh Shukla, who also directed the original movie, released it in 2012. It was well welcomed by critics and audiences, and ten years later, a sequel was released. On July 11th, the teaser for the movie was released, and Akshay appeared as Lord Shiva. In the first half, he played Lord Krishna, who provided assistance to The atheist Rawal
Paresh Rawal revealed in an interview a few years ago that he declined OMG 2. “Mujhe nahi lagi kahani achi,” he uttered. “I don’t want to take part in it. Mene bola mein nahi karunga, mere liye koi bhi sequel banana, encash karna, mujhe as a character maza nahi aa raha toh.
When discussing the movies that should have a sequel while rejecting OMG 2, Paresh Rawal mentioned Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Jo hum Hera Pheri mein kar chuke the it was again (chasing) abhi toh Neeraj (Vora) nahi raha par encash kyu? he questioned. Munna Bhai MMBS jaisi banao, ki ek jump late ho, quantum, Lage Raho Munna Bhai jaisi, toh aap sequel banate hai.
Paresh Rawal’s fans are eagerly anticipating Hera Pheri 4, the third installment of their popular franchise, even though he won’t be working with Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar in OMG 2.
On August 11th of this year, Akshay’s OMG 2—which also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam—will be released in theatres.
