Pallavi Joshi, who will soon be seen in The Bengal Files, shared her views on Bollywood’s choice of films.
She said the industry mostly makes love stories, comedies, and light entertainers, but when someone creates a film based on real issues, it immediately leads to unnecessary talk about politics.
According to her, people assume such films are linked to the government, even though the government itself prefers to keep the public away from reality.
Pallavi also recalled that earlier people thought filmmaker Shyam Benegal was well-connected, and now they say the same about her husband Vivek Agnihotri. She dismissed these as baseless myths, saying true talent has nothing to do with personal connections.
She further added that their films are often seen as anti-establishment which is important because artists should hold a mirror to society. For her every artist must bring a small element of revolt through their work.
