Pallaburusu, backed by Annapurna Studios, has gained attention with its teaser and trailer. With good audience response and low expectations, the film carries some buzz. Let’s see if it manages to surprise audiences and become a box-office success.
Pallaburusu Story: Shambho, an elderly man, is advised to use a toothbrush instead of neem sticks. He asks his son Tirupathi to buy one, but the toothbrush goes missing. Tirupathi also hides his daughter’s marriage from his father, upsetting Shambho. Angry with his son, Shambho takes him to court under the Maintenance Act. The rest of the story follows their legal fight and the love story of Ravi and Swetha.
Performances: The story of Pallaburusu is simple and mainly revolves around two characters. So, the film depends heavily on Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud. Both actors deliver excellent performances and fit their roles perfectly. The love track between Ravi and Swetha feels added mainly to increase the runtime, but Prajwal performs well as Ravi. Gomathy Reddy also looks cute as Swetha. The rest of the cast does justice to their roles.
Technical Aspects: The title Pallaburusu, which means toothbrush, itself creates curiosity. The idea of a father taking his son to court over a small issue is interesting, and director Uday Chauhan uses it to convey a simple philosophy. The first half is decent, but the second half feels repetitive.
