Paarijatha Parvam is a comedy caper that has some popular faces like Sunil, Viva Harsha, Shraddha Das, Chaitanya Rao, and Srikanth Iyengar in key roles. The film is now out in the theatres and let’s review the film here in detail.

Paarijatha Parvam Story: Chaitanya(Chaitanya Rao) is determined to helm a project centered around Bar Seenu, with Viva Harsha portraying the lead role. Despite his passion, Chaitanya faces constant rejection from producers due to his unconventional choice of hero. Frustrated by the dismissals and a past insult from one particular producer, Chaitanya takes drastic action, orchestrating the kidnapping of the producer’s wife. In a surprising turn, Harsha joins forces with Chaitanya to carry out the plan. However, complications arise when another group attempts to abduct the same individual, leading to a tangled web of conspiracy and chaos.

Performances: Chaitanya Rao delivers a solid performance, albeit without significant deviation from his previous works. While he embodies his character consistently across films, his acting skills show little progression. Shraddha Das shines in her substantial role as Parvathi, exuding charm and delivering natural expressions effortlessly. Her captivating presence begs for more substantial roles in the future. Sunil, Viva Harsha, and Srikanth Iyengar inject the film with enjoyable humor and exasperation in the latter half, offering a much-needed respite. Surekha Vani, Sameer, and Rohini add comedic flair to their respective roles.

Technical Aspects: The absence of a compelling narrative and a screenplay riddled with nonsensical twists only managed to frustrate audiences. The plot felt forced and artificial, detracting from the film’s impact. In terms of technical aspects, cinematographer Bala Saraswathi’s visuals were adequate, providing some aesthetic value to the production. Ree’s musical compositions were satisfactory, with the background score enhancing the storyline. However, Shashank Vupputuri‘s editing lacked the necessary precision and impact.

Analysis: Penned by director Santosh Kambhampati, Paarijatha Parvam aimed to deliver uproarious entertainment amidst the backdrop of filmmaking and a kidnapping narrative. Despite its promising premise, the execution left much to be desired, inundating the audience with dull scenes that tested their endurance.

As the kidnapping plot unfolded, the film wandered aimlessly, failing to delve into the heart of the narrative and instead diverting attention with irrelevant tangents. The comedy, intended as a focal point, often missed the mark, with actors relying on exaggerated performances and clichéd dialogues that elicited little genuine amusement.

The absence of a cohesive storyline and a screenplay that sacrificed coherence for cheap laughs only served to frustrate viewers. The overall effect was one of forced and contrived humor, ultimately detracting from the film’s impact.

Verdict: Overall, Paarijatha Parvam is an over-the-top and loud comedy that does not work. There are a few laughs, but they do not salvage the proceedings and make things boring for the audience, and end as a big letdown.

Bottom Line – Over-the-top comedy caper

Rating: 2/5
