Superstar Rajinikanth thoroughly entertained everyone when he came up with Chandramukhi, directed by P Vasu, more than a decade ago. While the film was a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, the director rewrote a lot of the original screenplay to suit Rajini’s style, making it into a completely new film.
Post the release of Chandramukhi, there were a lot of speculations regarding a sequel, but Rajinikanth refused to make a sequel, and one was made in Telugu, with Venkatesh in the lead role, directed by P Vasu, titled Nagavalli. It has now been officially announced that Chandramukhi 2 will be made, with Lawrence in the lead role. The choreographer turned actor has made quite the name for himself in the horror comedy genre, thanks to the Kanchana/Muni franchise.
It has also been revealed that MM Keeravani will be scoring the music for the film and that Lyca Productions is bankrolling the project. More information regarding the film is yet to be revealed.
