For the past few months, Tollywood is failing to bring the audience to the theatres. The fast pace spreading of digital entertainment and over-the-board ticket prices are prime reasons for the downfall of theatre footfalls, say trade and business analysts.
While the Telugu films and stars here are struggling to impress the audience, a set of Kollywood stars are currently doing Tamil-Telugu bilingual projects. Starting with Vijay’s Varasudu, Dhanush’s Sir and Sivakarthikeyan’s Prince, all Tamil stars are debuting in Telugu to conquer the market. But the fact check is except for Rajinikanth and Suriya, the Telugu audience are not in a mood to take other Tamil stars seriously.
While noted director Venky Atluri is directing Dhanush’s Sir, Vamshi Paidipally and Anudeep KV are helming Varasudu and Prince respectively.
