Opinion: AP government to decide the release of Tollywood biggies

It is well-known that the makers of upcoming biggies have made back to back announcements regarding the release dates. While the makers of Rajamouli’s prestigious project, RRR have announced that the film will hit the screens on March 25th, Bheemla Nayak team has revealed that the film will be out on the scheduled February 25th or on April 1st depending upon the pandemic impact.

On the other hand, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan’s highly-anticipated social drama, Acharya’s release is moved to April 29th. Last but not least, the makers of Superstar Mahesh Babu’s stylish entertainer, Sarkaru Vaari Paata have announced that the film’s release is shifted to May 12th. Though the makers of Radhe Shyam are yet to unveil the new release date, inside reports indicate that the film has high chances to release in March 2nd week or will be moved to May.

However, coming to the ground reality, the Andhra Pradesh government is still continuing the Covid night curfew in the state from 10 PM to 6 AM. Adding to it, there is no clarity on the ticket pricing issue by the state government. Considering these two aspects, it is more or less clear that the release of Tollywood biggies is in the hands of the AP government and the ruling party CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Will the government take a quick step on the lockdown restrictions and hike ticket prices soon? Remains to be seen.
