According to reports, the singer who was nominated for an Oscar suffered from a brain aneurysm and had surgery. According to news sources, she is in a stable condition.

After a decade away, the 58-year-old singer recently made a trip back to England.

On Friday, she was scheduled to give a performance at the University of Liverpool, Yoko Ono Lennon Center, and Tung Auditorium in London.

The Madras Music Academy in Chennai recently awarded the renowned singer the honorary title of “Sangita Kalanidhi” for 2023.

She was nominated for an Oscar for the song “Pi’s Lullaby” from the Irrfan Khan film “Life of Pi.”

She is renowned for her distinctive voice and her ability to sing in all four south Indian languages in addition to Hindi. She was born in Kolkata to a Tamil family and reared in Mumbai.

She received the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour in India, in 2021.
