Akkineni Nagarjuna is known for his versatility within the commercial space and delivering memorable blockbusters and films in those genres. He made Geethanjali, Shiva, Annamayya going against the tide and won great appreciation. With Annamayya he even got name as a brilliant and complete actor. His combination with Raghavendra Rao since then has become an identity for devotional films in Telugu Film Industry.
Other actors also tried to star in devotional epics but could not repeat the same magic. Following Annamayya, that released 20 years ago, Nagarjuna, Raghavendra Rao, MM Keeravani combination united again for Sri Ramadasu, Shirdi Sai and now, Om Namo Venkatesaya. The latest is about Hathiram Baba who was said to have played Ludo with Lord Venkateswara himself and did quite reforms on Tirumala about the malicious practices during the period. He was jailed by some jealous people and Lord himself saved him from their clutches.
Nagarjuna playing Hathiram Baba role expressed his happiness starting the promotions of the movie and the songs have already became popular among the people. The film is getting ready for a release this February 10th and the movie is said to have a length of 2 hrs 15 minutes and the buzz among the industry is that the movie has come out well and people will enjoy just like the earlier films. Anushka, Jagapathi Babu, Pragya Jaiswal, Rao Ramesh, Sourabh Raj Jain, Vimala Raman and Ashmita are playing important roles in the movie.
