Story: Krish (Sree Vishnu), Vinay (Priyadarshi), and Madhav (Rahul Ramakrishna) are three losers who try to earn a quick buck or so. One fine day, they enter the village of Bhairavakona and find out that there is a massive treasure hidden in the Sampangi Mahal. They decide to crack it down but also find out that the Mahal has a ghost named Samanpangi. The rest of the story is about how these enter the Mahal and bring out the treasure.
Performances: Sree Vishnu, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna are on fire in Om Bheem Bush. How they interact with each other and bring the house down on fire is the best part of the film. The chemistry between the three friends is one of the highlights. Priya Vadlamani makes a brief yet impactful appearance, exuding sultriness throughout her song sequence. Ayesha Khan commands attention with her substantial role. Preity Mukundan delivers admirably, embodying her character with finesse. Kamakshi Bhaskarla, known for her role in Polimera 2 is good. Srikanth Iyengar, Racha Ravi, Adithya Menon, and the rest of the cast fulfill their roles.
Technical Aspects: Sunny MR’s inventive sound design elevates the cinematic journey, crafting distinctive atmospheres that resonate throughout. Raj Thota‘s cinematography masterfully encapsulates the essence of every scene, seamlessly complemented by Vijay Vardhan Kavuri‘s precise editing. Though the production values leave a lasting impression, there is room for improvement in the VFX department; however, the art department’s dedication to intricate details remains a standout feature.
Analysis: The initial half unfolds with Sree Vishnu, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna’s comedic antics, aimed at captivating the attention of Bhairavapuram village. With the filmmakers openly stating the absence of logic, one can get the feeling of what is in store for us in the film. The makers have added this line and have taken control of the narrative in a clever manner.
Om Bheem Bush revolves around a haunted house and the daring quest of three individuals to unearth its legendary treasure. While some of these antics pass with slapstick humor, many dialogues between Sree Vishnu and Rahul Ramakrishna carry puns and subtle adult humor creating a laugh riot. The one-liners in the second half have been handled so well by the director and entertain the audience.
Om Bheem Bush’s first half is filled with good comedy and places a weighty responsibility on the second half to deliver laughter and chills. In the second half, the ghostly encounters feel prolonged, and the intended message appears undercooked. But still, the jump scares and the comedy generated in these situations is quite enjoyable.
Verdict: Overall, Om Bheem Bush has a simple plot but the narration of Sree Harsha makes all the difference. How he has evoked situational comedy is solid and engages the audience till the end. As the makers said, ignore the logic and enjoy the magic. The same happens with this film which is good fun drama.
