Jr. NTR has been on a roll since he changed his script selection with Temper. He made a creative choice to play an anti-hero in Puri Jagannath movie as a corrupt Police officer Daya and the movie became so popular that he was able to reduce the negativity that followed him for years with similar kind of scripts and execution. Mainly, he was able to come out of the rut he dug up for himself with Ramayya Vasthavayya and Rabhasa. He then took even bolder decision for his 25th film to go with Sukumar and change his attire for the movie. The movie Nannaku Prematho, a soft intelligent revenge story presented him like never before in terms of look and characterisation wise too. And contrast to his normal self he was restrained in his performance in the movie and there was not one even loud emotion from him except for once in the climax. The emotional movie became a Sankranthi hit for 2016 and then came the blockbuster of 2016 that gave him the biggest grosser of his career and satisfied his fans as well.
Janatha Garage, directed by Koratala Siva became a huge hit and announced the market potential of Jr. NTR who appeared to be struggling in that aspect for long time. After a lot of deliberation and giving a script that he liked from Vakkantam Vamsi, as he thought it did not suit him at this juncture, NTR decided to go with Ravindra alias Bobby’s script for his 27th film. The film has many surprises and a dual role is said to be confirmed by the sources. There are three heroines in the movie and the muhurtham is fixed on 10th February and from 15th of the month, the regular shoot will commence and tentative release date is scheduled for 11th August and from September, Trivikram will start directing Jr. NTR for his next.
