He talked to press on 29th December and said, “NTR biopic is about history and it will create history. The movie making is also a history as such a huge movie could be completed in just 70 working days by Krish and team. The movie has maby unknown stories of NTR and I fell in love with him again.”
About casting, he took example of Brahmanandam playing as Relangi to explain why for some roles casting another person of same stature is more important than their looks.
He said, “Relangi Venkaramayya garu is a legend in Telugu cinema. He is the first star comedian in Telugu and Balakrishna garu, Padmanabham, Ramana Reddy, Suryakantham, Raja Babu, Chalam, Ramaprabha followed him even though some of them are his contemporaries.
He set a bar in comedy with different characters and styles. To act like him is difficult and his prowess as a drama actor is also very difficult to achieve. Another comedian or actor of same stature should only perform as Relangi. So, Brahmanandam garu has been given the role. We cannot just take any actor or imitator for such a role,” concluded the writer. Movie is produced by Nandamuri Balakrishna who is acting as NTR and is directed by Krish. It will release as two parts and first part Kathanayakudu will release on 9th January.
