The Karnataka High Court (HC) has refused to give an urgent hearing to Ranveer Singh in the Kantara Daiva case. The court said he cannot get a special treatment just because he is a celebrity or star.
The next hearing is scheduled for February 24th that is today. Ranveer had approached the court to cancel the criminal case filed against him properly.
The complaint is linked to an incident at the International Film Festival of India in Goa where he shared the stage with Rishab Shetty as we all know.
While praising Kantara: Chapter 1, Ranveer reportedly copied expressions related to the sacred Daiva tradition.
A complaint was filed by advocate Prashanth Methal and the police registered an FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Ranveer later apologized saying he never meant to hurt religious sentiments.
