The coronavirus pandemic lockdown has certainly been bad for the entertainment industry around the world. However, due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, filmmakers have been making and signing more and more films.
When compared the number of films and other content that were in the making in 2019, the number of films and other forms of content that were in the making in 2020 have rapidly increased. Now, 2021 has seen a further increase in this number, with almost every actor in the industry busy with multiple projects, and several more in the making.
While so much content is in the making currently, there’s no clarity over whether all of these things will be released at all. The current situation is such that even big films are not sure when they will be released, and where they will be released – on OTT platforms or in theatres. Given that, it is now a major question mark whether all of these other content will be released at all, and where they will be released. Given that even big films are opting for direct OTT releases now, the probability of these content being picked up by one of the many OTT platforms seems higher.
