Aamir Khan has taken a different approach from the usual OTT trend. Instead of releasing Sitaare Zameen Par on a streaming platform just four weeks after its theatrical release he chose to wait.
Aamir spent over two years making the film, and it did well in theatres. Even though big OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon offered good deals, he didn’t sell the digital rights.
Instead, Aamir announced that Sitaare Zameen Par will release on YouTube on a pay-per-view basis. Viewers can watch the film on YouTube starting August 1st by paying Rs. 100.
Sitare Zameen Par is an emotional film with a strong social message. It is directed by RS Prasanna with Aamir Khan in the lead role. The movie was produced by Aamir Khan Productions.
Based on the film response Aamir is now planning to release some of his older films on YouTube in a similar way.
