Nivetha Responds To Backlash On Dog Bite Controversy

Nivetha Pethuraj is currently facing controversy because of words about dog bites. She took part in a public awareness rally in Chennai.

There she said that people should not exaggerate dog bites or create unnecessary fear. She explained that while rabies is a serious issue spreading fear is not the solution.

Instead, people should focus on proper vaccination and sterilisation (ABC – Animal Birth Control). She also added that killing street dogs is not the right answer and that dog bites are not a very serious matter.

However her comments sparked criticism. Many people, including political parties, disagreed with her views, especially when some groups want street dogs removed completely.

After seeing the backlash, Nivetha responded again, saying that the real problem is irresponsible citizens and praised political leaders for handling such situations.
