The dispute between actor Vishal and Lyca Productions has now become even more tangled. Reports say Vishal borrowed Rs 21.29 crore from Anbuchezhiyan of Gopuram Films through his banner, Vishal Film Factory.
Later, Lyca Productions agreed to settle this loan. As per their agreement, Lyca would temporarily hold the rights to all films produced by Vishal until the debt was fully repaid. This deal was based on mutual trust.
But Lyca later accused Vishal of starting new film projects without clearing the loan. Because of this, they approached the Madras High Court saying their rights were at risk if Vishal continued releasing films without repayment.
After hearing the case for more than a year, the court ordered Vishal to pay the full amount plus 30% interest.
Vishal appealed the decision. When the appeal came up one of the judges said he had handled this case earlier so it was transferred to a new bench. Now the case has become more interesting.
