It is widely known that noted producer Dil Raju is producing a film titled, Varisu with Kollywood star Vijay. Being directed by Tollywood director Vamshi Paidipally, the film is gearing up for a theatrical release during the Pongal season. Co-starring Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, Varisu will have a simultaneous release in Telugu as Vaarasudu.
During the same Pongal season, yet another Tamil star Ajith’s action thriller, Thunivu under the direction of H Vinoth is scheduled for a theatrical release. As both the films are gearing up for a same season release, Dil Raju is trying hard to block screens for Varisu in Tamil. Already news came out that the Red Giant Movies banner owned by Udhaynidhi Stalin has acquired Thunivu theatrical rights for the entire Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with a Telugu media, Dil Raju out of frustration said that as Vijay is a bigger star than Ajith, he is planning to hold more screens for Varisu than Thunivu. He also said that it is the back reason behind going to Tamil Nadu to make sure that Varisu gets more screens than Thunivu. Will the Red Giant Movies banner own by Udhaynidhi convince with Dil Raju’s logic? Remains to be seen.
Soon after witnessing Dil Raju’s statement, netizens started attacking him. Obviously, Ajith’s fans are breathing fire on the producer for his degrading comments. On the other hand, Telugu moviegoers are targeting Dil Raju for blocked maximum screens in the Nizam area despite the release of straight Telugu big films Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya.
